Meet our client: a stunning lake-view home with a two-story high ceiling. The living room features 7 gigantic windows, with the highest window sitting 21 feet above the floor—tough for anyone to reach!
Without pre-wiring for our plug-in motors, the best solution is our battery-powered motor with a solar panel. No more climbing ladders to recharge—just let the sun do its job! We installed a sleek, small solar panel above the left window, connected to the motor via USB-C, expertly hidden by our pro installers.

Solar Panel Setup & Installation
Installing our peel-and-stick USB solar panel is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Choose the perfect spot on your window—same side as the motor works best!
- Peel off the sticky tape cover and stick the panel on the window.
- Connect the solar panel to the motor and hide the cable. (Pro tip: use zip ties to keep it neat.)
The right-side shade? Same easy-peasy method, with solar panels at each motor's corner.
Final Look!
After testing both the left and right motorized shades and solar panels, we reveal the final look! Controlled by remote and powered by the sun, these shades open and close like magic at set times, offering perfect privacy and light control.
