Inside Mount vs Outside Mount
When it comes to choosing shades, the million-dollar question is: Inside mount or outside mount? The answer is simple: It depends on your window's depth! If your window depth is greater than 3 inches, you can go for an inside mount. This way, the shade can be mounted inside and flush with the wall for a sleek, seamless look.
Take this charming house in Mountain View, for example. With a window depth of 4 inches, the shades were installed inside, making them blend beautifully with the wall. If the window depth is less than 3 inches, we go for an outside mount. Additionally, for sliding doors with protruding handles, we use a reverse roll method, allowing the fabric to roll out from the side of the handle.
